The Park Pet Retreat is closing its doors after five years in business.
The facility, which has daycare, boarding and grooming, is located in Tucker, along Lawrenceville Highway. Sunday, Aug. 18, will be the last day it is open, said owner Rita MacCallon.
"I am sure that those of you who know me are certain this decision has not been made without months of mental agony trying to find a way to make this work," she said on the company website.
"But I have procrastinated far too long, much to my own detriment. Therefore, the statement has been made and plans will be carried forth."
Although there will be no boarding or daycare clients beyond Aug. 18, MacCallon said she wants to honor pre-purchased packages with refunds where it is feasible.
"I will so miss seeing all of you and those happy wagging tails," she added in the statement. "Please forgive me for any turmoil this will cause in your life and that of your dog."
