Local 7 Rebounds With Higher Health Score

It would have been 100 but for a gum-chewing cook.

The Local No. 7 restaurant in Tucker has been re-inspected by the DeKalb Board of Health and was given a score of 96.

An initial inspection Dec. 19 resulted in a rating of 68 after eight violations were found.

"We contested the score and they sent our health inspector back out for a re-score," co-owner Luis Finley told Patch Monday. "Jimmy (Maggard) was cooking and chewing gum and apparently that is not allowed and is worth four points. Of course we wanted the 100 but we'll take it and improve from there."
