Former Denver Bronco Joins Tucker Medical Practice

Dr. Thomas Lyons has received numerous awards for his breakthroughs in gynecologic surgery.

The DeKalb Medical Physicians Group Montreal OB/GYN in Tucker has announced Thomas L. Lyons, a former offensive lineman for the Denver Broncos, joined its practice as of Jan. 1, 2014.

Montreal OB/GYN, at 1462 Montreal Road W., Suite 412 in Tucker, provides routine obstetrics care and care of “high risk” pregnancies, as well as routine and specialized gynecological care for women. He joins the team of Stuart Pancer, Leslie Pope and Elizabeth Kobe.  

With more than 30 years of experience, Lyons is considered a surgical pioneer and has received numerous awards for his breakthroughs in gynecologic surgery.

His areas of research include both alpha and beta site activities involving surgical devices and procedures, multiple activities in the area of adhesion prevention, endometriosis, tissue removal, vascular occlusion, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, managing menopausal symptomology, and female surgical sterilization.

An Atlanta native and University of Georgia graduate, Lyons also has become known as an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis, and for dedicating much of his career to the education and training of other gynecologists, particularly in the area of minimally invasive surgery.

Lyons graduated from the Georgia Military Academy (now Woodward Academy), before attending UGA. While playing football and wrestling for the Bulldogs, he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in clinical bio-psychology. Lyons then went on to the University of Colorado medical school full time while spending six seasons with the Broncos.
