A business in Tucker located within the Stone Mountain Community Improvement District (CID) - which has a goal of creating 2,000 new jobs in the area by the end of 2013 - is expanding and hiring six people.
V.I.B. Systems Inc.'s growth plans at its Tucker plant were among the successes mentioned by Stone Mountain CID president Emory Morsberger during the district's first public meeting Wednesday to exchange ideas on attracting employers to the corridor.
The company, located on 4661 Hammermill Road, builds process control equipment for the pulp and paper industry, explained Jack Audas, vice president and general manager. He attended Wednesday's meeting, held at the offices of Eagle Rock Distributing in Stone Mountain. About 85 people came to the meeting.
V.I.B Systems will add production capacity to its plant, a move to better serve the North and South American markets, it said in an announcement. There will be more machine tooling and metal fabrication equipment to increase new system production and efficiency, the company said. It will also enhance its repair center so it can increase the number of systems it rebuilds.
