Buckhead Atlanta Construction Moving Along

The billion-dollar luxury development is on schedule and will open the first phase of retail later this year.

After being dormant for three years, construction on the billion-dollar luxury multi-use Buckhead Atlanta development is steady and on schedule.

The development, formerly known as The Streets of Buckhead, now has about five active cranes and 65 construction workers. Contractor Balfour Beatty Construction began construction in August on the Buckhead Atlanta project.

Buckhead Patch continues to follow the construction of the development, which once completed, will offer 300,000 square feet of upscale retail stores, restaurants and cafes, more than 100,000 square feet of office space and 370 luxury high-rise residences.

In December, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported that OliverMcMillan sought commercial and multifamily development permits for 1 million square feet of the new development.

In November, OliverMcMillan's Buckhead Atlanta Project Manager Hunter Richardson said OliverMcMillan is on schedule to open portions of Parcel C, where French upscale retailer Hermes will be located, in late 2013.
