Get Out: What To Do This Weekend

Live music, a cruise-in, a game ranch and more.

Tucker Cruise-In

When/Where: Saturday, July 9, 5 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Main Street, Tucker. 

Why Go: The Tucker Cruise-in gathers together all types of classic cars right on Main Street. It takes place the second Saturday of every month from April to September. For more information, click here.

Pricing: $5 registration fee. Free for spectators.

Legos: Build and Race

When/Where: Saturday, July 9, 2 p.m.-3 p.m., Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg Library, 952 Leon Street, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: Host and volunteer Germaine Schweibinz is providing Legos to kids ages 5 to 12 for an afternoon of block building. He'll instruct children to reach creative heights with constructing Lego creations. 

Pricing: Free, but it's only open to the first 25 participants. Admission tickets will be available 15 minutes before the event. 

Summer Animals at Yellow River Game Ranch

When/Where: Everyday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Yellow River Game Ranch, 4525 Stone Mountain Highway, Lilburn. 

Why Go: If you haven't been to Yellow River Game Ranch this summer, make sure to go for the new animals that have invaded its space. Check out the coyotes, bears, peacocks, rabbits and squirrels it's had for June and throughout the rest of the month.  

Pricing: Those 12 years and up are $8; ages 2 to 11 are $7; and children under the age of 2 are free.

Southern Steel at Will Henry's Tavern

When/Where: Sunday, July 10, 2 p.m., Will Henry's Tavern, 1228 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: Will Henry's is always having music going on, and this weekend makes no difference. Southern Steel, a Southern rock and roll band, will be performing at the Mountain Park/Stone Mountain tavern. 

Pricing: No cover and free to watch.

"Young Artists in Bloom"

When/Where: Saturday, July 9, 4 p.m.-6 p.m., The Old Town Lilburn Center for the Arts, 92A Main Street, Lilburn. 

Why Go: Owner Barbara Barth of The Little Shop of Arts and Antiques is hosting an exhibit and reception featuring work by 20 students ages 6 to 16. With the exhibit run by art teacher Catherine Susky, many of the works are nature-inspiring, depicting animals and wildlife that can be found in the wild. Light refreshments will be served, and the exhibit runs until July 16. 

Pricing: Free.

Trivia at Mama Mia's

When/Where: Saturday, July 9, 8:30 p.m., Mama Mia's, 5394 Five Forks Trickum Road, Lilburn. 

Why Go: Trivia has always had a Tuesday slot at Mama Mia's, but now they've added it Saturday's itinerary. Test your noggin with general knowledge questions, hosted by Atlanta trivia gurus Outspoken Entertainment.
