Tacky Prom Party Time This Saturday

What happens when you mix high school kids, tacky outfits, and really fun dance music?  

Well, that's the question Young Life East Atlanta asked years ago. The result is Tacky Prom! Now celebrating it's 6th year, Tacky Prom is an open and free dance for kids that go to Tucker, Lakeside, and surrounding high schools.

It's pretty simple. We just dance and have professional photographers there to shoot some of the action.

With Prom season right around the corner, high school kids are faced with some tough cultural questions. It's a night that kids fork out hundreds of dollars and flirt with everything from after parties to sex. Grown up issues for kids.  

The Tacky Prom is free, and kids are encouraged to find the ugliest old thrift store dress $5 can buy and to come dance for nothing.  

Consistently we overhear kids saying, "Tacky Prom is better than real Prom!" That's no surprise to us. It's kids just being kids with an event that's made just for them.

Tacky Prom is at the Leafmore Club House from 7:45 until 10 p.m. this Saturday, March 17.
