Build a Playhouse for Habitat in Tucker

Teams are competing in the second annual "Playhouse Build and Auction" for DeKalb Habitat.

Groups, businesses, professional builders and sponsors are competing in the second annual “Playhouse Build and Auction,” a fund-raiser for DeKalb Habitat for Humanity, according to CrossRoads News.

The playhouse building began March 10 and continues March 24 and 31 at at 4400 Hugh Howell Road in Tucker. Participants are framing, siding and decorating a playhouse that will be displayed with others in Decatur Square beginning April 20 in celebration of Earth Day.

CrossRoads reports that the playhouses will be auctioned off at the end of April and proceeds will go to support DeKalb Habitat’s mission to build, renovate and revitalize affordable housing.

"The best reward was to see the final creations and watch children enjoy playing in and around the playhouses while they were on display,” said Executive Director Jayne Watson, recalling last year's event.

Registration is still open if you want to help bulid one of the playhouses
