Arnold Schwarzenegger Coming to Tucker

Scenes for a new movie will be filmed here this month.

Residents of a neighborhood off Brockett Road in Tucker are in for a bit of an upheaval later this month. A production company is moving in for a couple of days to shoot scenes for a movie and coming with them is... Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The movie in question is called "Breacher" and tells the sordid tale of a group of rogue DEA agents who get their comeuppance in gruesome ways. The title refers to the main character's name, played by the governator himself.

"'Breacher"...will be very like a new "Predator,'" Schwarzenegger told Empire Magazine. "It's a team around me and they get knocked off until there's only me left. Except in this case there will be a different twist to the whole thing instead of some alien monster." Variety describes "Breacher" as a "testosterone-heavy riff on Agatha Christie's 'Ten Little Indians.'" (The film's original title was "Ten").

The movie, due for release next year, also stars Sam Worthington, Terrence Howard and Dawn Olivieri

The former governor of California is trying to rekindle his film career, among other things. He's also been busy promoting his autobiography and apologizing to his family for various indiscretions.

The Tucker location is Brockett Walk, close to Lawrenceville Highway, on Oct. 23 and 24. Residents were informed of the project in a letter and told that crews will be in the area with trucks and equipment in the week leading up to Oct. 23.

"Traffic in the neighborhood will be affected as little as possible and access to homes will remain unobstructed," Walter Thompson, location manager for Brentwood Productions, said in the letter. "Local law enforcement will be present to safely direct all through traffic."

Thompson added that the location is a closed set. "This means no guests are invited to watch the filming process. This policy is implemented because onlookers can very easily distract the actors from their job. While there is no way to enforce a closed set when filming in a public place such as this, I am asking for your cooperation," he said.

The letter asks residents to be respectful if they possess "loud or aggressive animals" and to "schedule any chores that involve loud power tools or lawn equipment for another day."

"We look forward to filming in your neighborhood," the letter concluded. "We strive to provide a professional working environment and overall positive experience for your community."

What do you think of Schwarzenegger? And is this an unfair disruption? Tell us in the comments below. And if you drop by the set, take some photos and send them to Tucker Patch.

Get a reason why they picked that location?

Yes, Tom. A house on that street is being used to portray the base for a drug cartel that gets ripped off by the rogue DEA agents.

Does anyone know if school traffic will need to be re-routed? Brockett Elementary is just blocks away from the location of the shoot.
Kevin Madigan (Editor) October 15, 2012 at 03:27 PM
Cheryl - school traffic will not be affected.

We even welcome bad actors here in the New Hollywood. I'm sure Arnold has made a great movie sometime in the past, but besides Terminator I cant seem to recall any. ~ AtlantaFilmCrew.Com - a social network for creatives in Atlanta that is growing like Kuszu
