The findings of a cityhood viability study will be shared at a Main Street event.

Tucker cityhood is a viable option and positive feasibility results provided by the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University will be available this weekend at a community celebration in the heart of Tucker.

Tucker 2014 will host the celebration on Saturday, Dec. 21 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the downtown Tucker Square on Main Street

“We have some exciting news to share, and downtown Tucker is the perfect location for us, with the help of Santa, to deliver this gift to the 120-year-old Tucker community,” said Tucker 2014 President Sonja Szubski. “This will be a fun way for us to thank everyone who has worked so hard talking with neighbors, contacting legislators, and raising money to ensure that our community will have a local voice at the table for decisions impacting our future. We want everyone to know how much we appreciate their support and give them even more reason to be excited about continuing their efforts for a city of Tucker in the New Year.”

In addition to the Tucker 2014 announcement, children will have the chance to let Santa know exactly what they want under the tree Christmas morning, and adults can get some last-minute shopping done on Tucker’s thriving Main Street. The event is free and treats will be provided.
