Shots Fired During Attempted Robbery Outside Target

A man is in custody after Friday's incident. No injuries were reported.

A man attempted to rob another man after agreeing to meet outside Tucker's Target store to discuss a jewelry purchase.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon when the victim and the suspect met about a ring the victim was trying to sell on Craigslist. The suspect grabbed the ring and ran across Northlake Parkway, DeKalb Police spokesperson Mekka Parish told Patch.

The victim chased the suspect, who was also armed, and fired his weapon in the air, according to witnesses. He caught the suspect at the DeKalb Tire Company and was able to subdue him. He then called police, who arrested the suspect. Their county headquarters building is around the corner at 1960 West Exchange Place.
