Map From 1895 Shows Tucker

Reader Matthew Lee posted on Facebook a portion of a Rand McNally map from 1895 that clearly shows the community of Tucker.

A reader commented: "Hmm, no Lakeside that I can see." Another one wrote: "On a serious note, as late as the '70s, Tucker was considered all of unincorporated DeKalb County surrounded by Decatur, Clarkston, Stone Mountain, Lilburn, Norcross, and Chamblee/Doraville, with tiny swaths of Avondale and Atlanta on the fringes. Tucker's post office serviced more than 80,000 addresses at the time."
