Crime Watch Information

Tips from a Drayton Woods resident.

Spring is here, summer is quickly approaching and we are now opening our windows and doors to let fresh air in and enjoy the beautiful weather. Please remember basic safety rules:

When out in the back yard, if you can't see the door, keep it closed. If you have a screen door, make sure it is locked.

Remember to double check your windows to make sure you've closed them before leaving your house or going to bed.

If your car has a sun/moon roof, add that to your routine security checks. It's easy to go to bed and forget to secure the car.

When checking your smoke detectors (it's easy to remember to do it when time changes), also check your outside lights for bulbs that may need replacing.

Do a walk around the perimeter of your house-are your shrubs trimmed so that they are not obstructing your view or providing a hiding place for criminals.

KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORS!  With the warm weather, more people are out and about walking. jogging and riding bikes.  Stay alert-how many of those people are just friendly neighbors and how many are actually looking for their next target for a burglary?
