Coyote Attacks in Tucker a 'Big Problem'

Cats are disappearing at an alarming rate.

By Patch reader Tim Brownlee

I saw the coyote attack article by Sandra Williams and just wanted to comment.

I don't live in Tucker but travel through twice a day. I live in Snellville and work at UPS off Pleasantdale Road. I am passing through Tucker every morning around 5:30 a.m. and I see all sorts of wildlife just before daybreak.

I have seen numerous deer cross the road right in front of Henderson Middle School at the red light and go down the middle of the road right beside the school. Just this week I saw a coyote make this same trip and I have seen numerous of them do this. I see coyote and deer on Hugh Howell Road as well.

The point I wanted to make is cats are a favorite food of the coyotes. One of our drivers has been feeding a couple of stray cats in our parking lot for a long time. I would see them everyday waiting on her to get there to feed them. Now they are gone and she is afraid the coyotes have got them.

There is a pack of three or four that are continually inside the fence of our property. I think Tucker has a bigger coyote problem than is really known, and the residents of Tucker need to be aware of this issue. They need to keep their pets in as safe a place as possible.

Anyway, just wanted you to know.
