Operation Christmas Child

Intersted in starting a new family or church tradition this year? Help poor children from around the world through Operation Christmas Childs shoe box gift ministry. Tucker resident Becky Fortenberry has been the project chairman for Operation Christmas Child at First Baptist Church Tucker. Her church has had a passion for this mission for more than ten years. The motto of their church is " Beyond Our Corner...Into the World." What better way to live up to that motto than through Operation Christmas Child? This year they had their shoe box campaign and called it "Christmas in July."
Two Hundred and three shoe box gifts were collected and placed under a Christmas tree in the sanctuary.  Each person who donated boxes held them in their arms while a prayer was said for the children who would be receiving them. Last year over 6.5 million box gifts were packed in the United States and there is a great need for more.
