'Kill The Messenger' Finishing Tucker Shoot

Filming of the movie 'Kill The Messenger' is wrapping up in Tucker this week. Cast and crew will move on to another location in Georgia to continue making the true story of a reporter who exposes the CIA's role in the Iran-Contra scandal.

The film's main character, Gary Webb, is played by Oscar-nominated actor Jeremy Renner, and a house in the Edinburgh subdivision has been made to look like his residence in California during the 1980s, complete with palm trees and a Triumph TR6 sports car parked outside.

Renner is known for his roles in 'The Hurt Locker,' 'The Avengers,' and 'The Bourne Legacy.' He was seen chatting with onlookers and signing autographs in between takes.

A rehearsal scene is taking place in the accompanying video. Webb, Renner's character, is reading a bedtime story to his daughter. After he leaves her room, he walks through his house, turning off lights, when he notices someone crouched behind his car, trying to hide from view.

A scene filmed later that evening had a barefoot Webb coming out of the house with a gun in his hand and chasing the intruder down the street. A car chase involving "Sacramento County Police" was also scheduled to be filmed in the neighborhood.
