A word to the wise. (Apparently, I'm not one of the "wise.") If you chose "NP" at the poll today, you will NOT be able to vote on all of the issues! I was a victim, myself. I don't side fully with R or D so I chose "NP." I didn't think it would make a difference in my ballot. But, it did. I didn't get to voice my opinon on gun laws, casinos in our backyard nor on "right to life" issues. It's a SHAME that we don't let ALL VOTERS have a voice on ALL ISSUES. Disgusting, even. Be warned when you go today. PICK ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER OR YOU HAVE NO VOICE! Sad, but true! I hope your voice is heard - LOUD AND CLEAR.

Hi Jessica, my husband and I figured that out this a.m. when one of our ballots did not have the CEO of DeKalb on it. We called the election office and learned that you do not select a party when you register in Georgia, so you can ask for any of the three ballots when you vote. So, if you asked for a Democratic ballot, you were able to vote for the CEO out of the 3 candidates. Since there is not a Republican candidate (not sure why that is), then the "winner" of this primary will run unopposed on the November ballot, so we actually picked the new CEO today.

I don't know if this is a new way of running things or if I'm just paying better attention today, but it was odd. Thanks again for reminding people why they need to pay attention to what is going on with our schools even if they do not have children in the public school system right now.
