Vietnamese Restaurant in Tucker Burglarized

Police are investigating two burglaries at a restaurant on Lawrenceville Highway.

The owner of Xinh Xinh Cafe and Gwinnett County police are trying to determine who is breaking into the Lawrenceville Highway business.

The Vietnamese restaurant is located near the intersection of Jimmy Carter Boulevard in the 6300 block of Lawrenceville Highway, on the Gwinnett County side of Tucker.

Recently, police responded to an alarm going off at the business about 1 a.m. on Aug. 16. Officers arrived to a smashed window and a cinder block inside the business, according to a Gwinnett County police report.

At the time, police were unable to contact the owner, and therefore did not know if any items were taken.

Later that morning, the owner arrived to his business and the overnight damage. He then called police.

The owner told an officer that he closed the business around 9 p.m. the previous evening, and arrived on Aug. 16 to find two televisions stolen from the inside, according to the police report.

The owner said he does not know who is breaking into his business, but that it happened another time earlier this month.

Gwinnett County Police Department is continuing to investigate.
