Update: Fire Victims "Inundated" With Supplies

Nursing home staff members issued a wish list of items, but they got more than they bargained for.

"No more, please!" That's the message Thursday afternoon from staff at Meadowbrook Nursing Home after being "inundated" with activity supplies after Patch's article earlier this week. Mission accomplished.

The recent fire at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Tucker resulted in the death of a resident and damaged a lot of its supplies.

Staff members at the facility are asking for help in replenishing a number of badly needed items. The wish list is as follows:

1. Games (cards, checkers, large piece puzzles)
2. Arts and crafts supplies (flowers, glue, tissue paper, construction paper, etc.)
3. Videos
4. Socks
5. Toiletries
6. Books (any kind)
7. DVDs and CDs
8. Bingo prizes

The contact is Ms. Sam, the activities coordinator at Meadowbrook. The home is located at 4608 Lawrenceville Highway.

Items can also be dropped off at the Tucker Farmers Market on Main Street on Thursday afternoon.
