Poll: Is There a Discipline Problem at Tucker High School?

There have been cases of violent behavior and lawlessness involving THS students recently.

Several disturbing cases of student misbehavior and violence have recently taken place involving students form Tucker High School.

Last week there was a bad fight between two boys in the cafeteria during lunchtime, and Patch heard reports of a similar incident earlier this week.

Another recent fight, on the school grounds after classes let out for the day, caused serious leg injuries to a teacher who tried to break it up.

Last fall, half a dozen students were charged for breaking and entering into nearby houses when they should have been in class.

Is there a pattern here, or just unfortunate coincidences? Take our poll below-

When a teacher gets hurt trying to break up a fight, there is trouble. I do not understand how children, they are under 18, have no respect for themselves, teachers or other peoples property. The world is not theirs. Students must earn what they get and not take something by force, or fighting. A teacher should be able to stop a fight just by their presence. Maybe there needs to be a police officer in the schools just to cart them off to the police station or jail for assult. Would that open other student's eyes to what proper school conduct should be?

There is an SRO assigned to both the middle and the high school. This is a Dekalb County police officer who works for the school system.

Your Poll middle question should read, "No, these are isolated instances" or "No, there is not" Seems that anyone who checks the middle answer is excusing the bad behavior or seriousness of it. (so you probably won't get many people to tick that box)
you could leave that question there but at least give those polled the option of another No answer.

Maybe they just think they'll get on a reality T.V. show. We reap what we sow.
