The award-winning Papi's Cuban & Caribbean Grill is branching out and will soon have a new spot in Tucker.

Papi's has won awards from the likes of Creative Loafing, Access Atlanta, City Search and our own Patch in Kennesaw, where one of the four in Metro Atlanta is located. The others are in Midtown, Stockbridge, and Lawrenceville.

The local branch will be in Cofer Crossing, in a place long since vacated by a Mexican restaurant.

Another Cuban restaurant opened here quietly a few weeks ago, this one in the Northlake Festival area, at 4073 LaVista Road. It's called Coco Cabana and Patch will have a review shortly.

The Greater Good Barbecue and Las Colinas both opened here in recent months as well, signifying a trend of interesting eateries choosing Tucker to do business.

What other restaurants would you like to see open here? Tell us in the comments below-

I am spoon excited about Papi's arrival to Tucker. Now I no longer have to trek to Lawrenceville or Downtown Atlanta to get my Cuban cuisine fix!!

I would love to see a Sweet Tomatoes in the Tucker/Northlake area. I hate that I have to drive to Duluth to get my fix.

We visited The Greater Good yesterday, and it was superb barbeque.

The Greater Good BBQ is a wanna be community Q BBQ. I mean it still resembles the Golden Dolphin in all aspects except food. Might as well call it the BBQ Dolphin. I Have been living in Tucker since 1971 and I am very eager to see it become I distant cousin to the downtown Decatur area. Tucker needs a lot of things, but before major changes occur we need to weed out the riff raff hoodlum, ghetto ass MF's who are destroying it.

Wow what an offensive use of the word 'ghetto'. You ought to watch the words you put into the universe and find out what they really mean before your judgemental, racist attitude gets the best of you. Or has it already? Best of luck!

Lavoe, I speak for all Tucker residents when I ask you to move to Cartersville, or Blairsville, or somewhere more suited to your underdeveloped, Marlborough-tinted mind. Please, let me know if I can help you pack your guns, NASCAR jacket, and Ol' Yeller, and haul all those treasures up to the cabin, ok?
Seriously, friend...Your beloved Tucker of yesteryear is indeed in it's final death throes, thank God. Except for the 72 churches still packed into the downtown area (killing restaurant growth), this community may just have a chance at becoming a much nicer dining and leisure destination.
Take care, Bud-ro...
