Man Stabbed, Nobody Notices

People in an apartment fail to see a stabbing in their midst.

A man who was stabbed repeatedly at a Fellowship Road apartment full of people had to make a phone call for outside help because nobody noticed or came to his aid.

Police responded to a call on Dec. 9 at around 8:30 p.m. from the victim's brother and on arrival found a man on the floor of the apartment's back porch, "with his shirt open, his cell phone in his left hand, a twenty dollar bill on the ground...and empty beer cans all around him," a police incident report stated. "I observed several stab wounds to his chest and stomach area," the officer wrote.

The victim had phoned his brother for help because at least five people who were in the apartment "did not see or hear anything," according to the report. The man told police he had been stabbed by another man with whom he had been drinking and then gotten into a fight.

Police are looking for the suspect, a former resident of the apartment, but have made no arrests.
