Liquor Store Shopper Gets Carjacked

Young Hispanic male flashed a knife and took a car.

A man who stopped at a Tucker liquor store had his car taken from him at knife-point.

Floy Smith, of Doraville, told police he pulled up in front of Happy's Package Store and as he got out of his car, a man holding a cigarette asked him for a light. "Mr. Smith stated he leaned back into the vehicle through the open door to retrieve a lighter," a DeKalb Police incident report revealed. As he did so, he observed the man standing directly behind him opening a 'butterfly style knife' and stated the suspect pointed the knife at him. The suspect entered the vehicle, which still had the keys in the ignition, and sped away traveling west on Pleasantdale Road.

The vehicle is a gray 2001 Toyota Camry with Georgia tag number AFU9198. The incident occurred Jan. 9 at 8:20 p.m. in a shopping center at 3201 Tucker Norcross Road.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male, about 28 years of age, clean shaven, wearing dark pants and a red hooded sweatshirt.

Why is that the question that you ask? Why don't you ask the reason for this Hispanic dude being up to no good. The "blame the victim" or the "let's analyze the victim's actions" culture in this town has to stop.

I thought the exact same thing Stephen! It's like a neighbor of mine who had some contents in their "unlocked car" stolen. Jeez folks...just make it easy for criminals to do their thing. Use common sense.

What is his immigration status? Sorry, but that's a legitimate question given our illegal immigration situation.
We ought to ban knives or require them to be made of rubber, right?
