Last Chance: Volunteer for 'Beat The Badge'
The 5K Run on Saturday benefits the DeKalb Police Alliance.
Volunteers are needed for Saturday's Beat the Badge event, benefiting the DeKalb Police Alliance, a non-profit organization which provides all uniformed police officers in DeKalb County with a $100,000 life insurance policy.
The policy covers officers killed in the line of duty and has helped two families of slain officers to date.
Please contact Grant Knox (knoxg@att.net) if interested in volunteering at the event, which takes place on Saturday, Sept. 15 near the Police Headquarters building on West Exchange Place in Tucker.
Those wishing to run or walk can register at the link here. The race will feature the DKPD Helicopter Unit, the SWAT team mobile command unit, the Motorcycle unit, the BOMB squad, Emergency vehicles, the K-9 Unit and more. There will be lots of fun and games for the family including free Chick-fil-A food, music and t-shirts.
