Henderson Middle Announces Personnel Changes
Trellis Davis has been promoted to seventh grade assistant principal, among other changes.
Henderson Middle School announced several personnel changes Monday.
From the PTSA's weekly email:
Due to the retirement of two staff members in November, HMS recently added new members to our faculty. Please welcome Ms. Meia Love, 8A Language Arts teacher and Mr. Darron Shell, 7A Math teacher. In addition, congratulations are due to Ms. Trellis Davis, former 7A Math teacher, who was promoted to the 7th grade Assistant Principal's position.
On a sad note, we will be losing Angela Mickle, 8th grade counselor, as a result of a Reduction In Force (RIF) by the District. Ms. Mickle will begin in January, 2013 as the counselor for Hightower Elementary School. Ms. Leslie McMillan, Head Counselor, will resume the role as 8th grade counselor.

Just curious: why does the PTSA handle staff change announcements? Shouldn't the school administration be responsible? Not faulting the PTSA for doing it, just wondering if they are having to pick up the slack for something that we should expect the school system to handle.

PTSA's are always picking up the slack for something the school system should be handling. DCSD feels that is the role of the PTSA.
I remember Terry Segovis telling one PTSA that they should purchase fans for the classrooms when the AC doesn't work. Don't expect the AC to be fixed.
