DeKalb County Football Media Day Set for July 27

Tucker will host Southwest DeKalb on August 25 as part of the Thursday Night High School Game of the Week coverage scheduled by WSB-TV Channel 2 and PlayON.

The 2011 DeKalb County High School Football Media day is set for Wednesday, July 27 at James R. Hallford Stadium in Clarkston.
Twenty-one high schools, including all 19 DeKalb County School System teams along with Decatur, Marist and St. Pius X, will be participating.

The head coaches from the 21 schools will begin the day at 4 p.m. under the home side stands as they talk about the upcoming season and introduce some of their top players heading into preseason practice.

Following the coaches, there will be photo and interview opportunities for the media as the schools gather for their individual group photos on the field.

The season for DeKalb County teams starts with a pair of early games on Friday, August 19 as Druid Hills hosts South Atlanta in a 7:30 p.m. contest at Adams Stadium and Stone Mountain travels to Grady Stadium to take on Maynard Jackson High, also at 7:30 p.m.

A full slate of games begin the following week highlighted by a televised Thursday night game as Tucker hosts Southwest DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. in a big Region 6-AAAA opener at Hallford Stadium. The game is a part of the Thursday Night High School Game of the Week coverage scheduled by WSB-TV Channel 2 and PlayON! Sports in cooperation with Georgia High School Association (GHSA) for the fall of 2011.

The full 2011 schedules will be released as soon as game sites versus several City of Atlanta schools have been confirmed. Some games are possibly being moved to Clark Atlanta University.
