CEO Ellis, Commissioners to Host Neighborhood Summit

The theme this year centers on the future and improving quality of life.

DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis and the county Board of Commissioners are hosting the fourth annual DeKalb Neighborhood Summit on Nov. 3.

The summit's theme is "Your neighborhood, your quality of life: The place where your future lives."

Residents from all over the county, including Tucker, are invited to attend, exchange ideas with others and learn how to partner with the county to help improve quality of life.

Workshops at the summit will focus on foreclosures, code compliance, community safety, beautification and green initiatives like water conservation, recycling, renewable energy and sustainable neighborhood programs.

Plus, Ellis, the commissioners and other community leaders will be on hand too.

The summit will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, 130 Clairmont Avenue, Decatur. To register for the summit or get more information, click here.

Perhaps when they leave here they can get over to 274 Ohm Avenue in Avondale Estates, GA and let the resident here know the dangers of leaving open paint containers on the street for the ignorant garbage men to toss up and down the street on cars, pavement and mailboxes??? My auto was damaged by this act of negligence. Myself and several of the neighbors in this community on Ohm Avenue are eyewitnesses to the incident and have reported it to the sanitation deparment more than once.

Absolutely no one has responded and when phone calls have been made, they have been handled by some of the most belligerant people breathing. With so many qualified people out of work, you would think Dekalb County would figure out a way to hire someone other than degenerates and ignorant baffoons that waste the taxpayers money and insult their intelligence.

But, what can be expected from employees of a county run by trifling heathens that only want a position and a title and could care less about becoming effective leaders as long as they manage to fake and feign "being important"!!!
